Klein's Cello Sonatas cover 1746

History

Gerhard Fredrik Witvogel (1696-1746) of Amsterdam was active in the 1740s at the same time as Michel-Charles Le Cène (1684-1743). He published works such as the violin sonatas of Leclair, Tessarini, Guerini, Santis and Dall'Oglio, keyboard works by Handel (Op.2) and concertos. He also published some works by local composers such as Lustig (Six sonates: pour le clavecin: ouvrage premier, 1734) and Klein (6 Cello Sonatas, Op.4, 1746).
